Sleeping 16 people throughout the property, Hinterland House is a place to bring multiple generations of family and friends together in a breathtaking natural environment.

Crafted using hand-made blocks and locally milled timbers, the original homestead has four expansive bedrooms, loungeroom comprising of two separate sitting areas, a stunning dining room anchored by ceiling high windows with ease of access to the kitchen and nestled around it – the famous wrap-around verandas of Hinterland House.

Lighthouse and Sunrise Cottages flank the original home and offer guests a secluded retreat of refined luxury. Each cottage allows you to be self-sufficient, and has both king and queen bedrooms, a luxury living room and have private access from the homestead.

We consider ourselves so fortunate to have stayed with our entire extended family at Hinterland House for our 20th anniversary. We rented the house in its entirety which meant it was large enough for 21 of us and yet extremely comfortable and very spacious. From kids to our older parents, everyone loved it. The house itself is stunning. Beds were super comfortable and the property as a whole - with the outdoor deck, fabulous pool and stunning hinterland views - made for a wonderful stay. We all still talk about returning to stay again!

We had a great time staying at Hinterland House. It is the perfect location for a family getaway. It is close to Byron and Bangalow to enjoy the beach and restaurants but far enough away to feel switched off.

Had the most magical stay last weekend. The house is breathtaking along with the picturesque views which not only made for some amazing photography but a wonderful stay. The groundskeeper/manager was only ever a phone call away and was very welcoming upon arrival. Would highly recommend it to anyone for any occasion.

We had a wonderful week with extended family, including 9 children, at Hinterland House. Sam, the onsite manager was delightful and so helpful to all our requests. The grounds are magnificent and were thoroughly explored and enjoyed by both children and adults. We used every part of the house and all the facilities. I have no hesitation in recommending this property for a family gathering. As one of our grandchildren expressed " I've had the best time ever, 100, 100, best times".

The worst part of my stay was having to head home! This property is absolutely stunning in every way. The furnishings are divine and grand without losing the warm, homely vibe. This house was truly spectacular!! The photos just don’t do it justice. Each corner of the house is better than the last and the grounds and pool are so lush and stunning. Views from every room and a calmness and serenity to match! To top it all off, our hosts were so responsive, kind, funny and generous!
